Estuario Weekly Update
An estuarine greeting! Through our weekly update, we share events and opportunities for collaboration, training, and volunteerism scheduled in benefit of the San Juan Bay Estuary, its ecosystems, and communities.
Family Day
The SJBEP invites you to the next Family Day at the Condado Lagoon Natural Estuarine Reserve, on Saturday, December 7, 2024, on the grounds of the Jaime Benítez Park.
We will have a sports activity, an educational talk and a tour of the Reserve, as well as a story reading and Cine del Estuario. More details will be published soon.
Summit 2024
Everyone is invited to the 2024 Summit, to be held on Monday, December 2, Tuesday, 3 and Wednesday, December 4, at the theater of the College of Engineers and Surveyors of Puerto Rico, in Hato Rey. This is a massive event that will bring together experts and connoisseurs in the topics of sustainability and urban resilience, to achieve greater integration and collaboration between various sectors and disciplines.
Show your research
We are receiving abstracts of projects or studies relevant to the San Juan Bay Estuary watershed. If you are an expert or connoisseur on urban sustainability and resilience issues, we invite you to submit a poster as part of the Watershed Symposium of Puerto Rico on Wednesday, December 4.
Join as a volunteer
We’re also receiving registrations for volunteers who can collaborate on various tasks during these three days. Sign up today on the event portal.
The Summit 2024 is open to the public. See more information at estuario.org/cumbre-2024.
Giving Tuesday
Help us restore and protect the waters of the San Juan Bay Estuary and its ecosystems. Donate to the SJBEP today, in commemoration of this upcoming Giving Tuesday, which will be on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

Scouts require the approval from their Scoutmasters before registering. An adult leader from their unit must register and be present for the two virtual sessions. Register HERE.
Coastal Resilience with Students
On Friday, November 15, 2024, we held a planting of coastal vegetation in the Condado Lagoon, with students from the American Military Academy.
The group of 24 students, together with their teacher, planted more than 300 specimens of coastal vegetation, including red mangroves and seagrapes. This effort was led by arborist, Andreína Alexatos. Awesome!
