Project Evaluator
The San Juan Bay Estuary Partnership (Estuario) seeks qualified applicants for the Project Evaluator contract position to document project efforts of the Juan Mendez Creek Restoration.
The Corporation for the Conservation of the San Juan Bay Estuary is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that operates the San Juan Bay Estuary Partnership, or Estuario. Established in 1994, we are the only tropical and non-continental location within the National Estuary Program (NEP) under Section 320 of the Clean Water Act. The Estuario operates as a partnership committed to their collective responsibility to restore and conserve the waters and associated ecosystems of the San Juan Bay Estuary and its watershed as a sustainable axis of social and economic development. Estuario’s work is guided by a master restoration plan known as the Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan (CCMP) for the San Juan Bay Estuary.
In November 2021, U.S. Congress passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) to invest in the nation’s infrastructure and resilience, with a major focus on environmental justice and climate change and allocated part of this funding to each National Estuary Program. The Estuario will use Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) funding to restore the Juan Méndez Creek located in the municipality of San Juan through high-impact blue/green infrastructure interventions, achieving medium-term restoration of waters communities affected by this body of water, many of which are environmental justice communities.
Under this project, the Project Evaluator will be expected to develop an ongoing storyline of the Juan Méndez Creek restoration process to document and communicate project efforts, project achievements, and impact to various audiences. This contract position will work under the supervision of the Executive Director.
Responsibilities:
Develop a storyline of the progress throughout the project using various communication strategies.
Develop products that can be used by Estuario to present the project, its impact, and progress for stakeholder meetings, in-person presentations/conferences, and uploaded on the Estuario website.
Document and communicate the project’s efforts, achievements, and impacts.
Attend any meetings related to the project with Estuario staff members, contractors that are part of the project, stakeholders such as communities, government agencies, non-profits to document progress.
Debriefing meetings with Estuario staff to review program observations.
Present findings and provide recommendations.
Required Qualifications (Education and Experience):
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Communications, Public Administration, Business Administration or other related discipline.
Experience in project management, technological sciences and innovation, and digital media and communications.
At least 3 years of experience in project evaluation or similar experience. However, all levels will be considered.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be detail-oriented.
Critical thinking.
Strong oral, written, and communication skills.
Ability to collect, compile, analyze, and evaluate a complex set of inputs and present the findings and conclusions clearly and effectively.
Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment.
Ability to prioritize time efficiently, work independently and manage competing priorities.
Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, cloud-based data access and share software such as Google Drive, and other software such as Adobe, etc. required.
All Service Providers are expected to provide their own personal computer and transportation.
Compensation:
$30/hr, or commensurate with experience.
