An estuarine greeting! Through our weekly update, we share events and opportunities for collaboration, training, and volunteerism scheduled in benefit of the San Juan Bay Estuary, its ecosystems, and communities.
Summit 2024
The SJBEP invites you to its Summit 2024, to be held on Monday, December 2, Tuesday, 3 and Wednesday, December 4, at the theater of the College of Engineers and Surveyors of Puerto Rico, in Hato Rey. This is a massive event that will bring together experts and connoisseurs in the topics of sustainability and urban resilience, thus achieving greater integration and collaboration between various sectors and disciplines.
Show your research
We are receiving abstracts for projects or studies relevant to the San Juan Bay Estuary watershed. If you are an expert or connoisseur on urban sustainability and resilience issues, we invite you to submit a poster as part of the Watershed Symposium of Puerto Rico on Wednesday, December 4.
Join as a volunteer
We are also looking for volunteers to collaborate on-site performing various tasks during the Summit’s three days. Sign up today at the event portal.

Recycling pop-up in Loíza
Bring your recyclables to the new Recycling Pop-up, a monthly collection event in Loíza. The next (and first) Pop-up will be on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Miguel Fuentes Pinet Stadium. Don’t miss it! See more information, HERE.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) RESEARCH AND STUDY PROPOSALS – ESTUARIO FELLOWSHIP FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS—The San Juan Bay Estuary Partnership is looking to engage graduate students to design and conduct a research project that employs a multidisciplinary approach to develop innovative strategies for enhancing the resilience of vulnerable regions through nature-based solutions in the San Juan Bay Estuary.

Weekly water quality monitoring
Evaluation conducted Thursday, November 14, 2024. We have a GREEN flag for the Condado Lagoon. However, we recommend avoiding the areas that exceeded the water quality standard of 70 CFU/100 ML. Remember to avoid the water during precipitation events.
