CCMP Review
Every ten years, the San Juan Bay Estuary Partnership (SJBEP) brings collaborators and the communities from throughout the region to refresh the CCMP, a document that advances the mission of restoring and conserving the quality of the waters of the SJBE ecosystem as a sustainable axis of social and economic development.
From April 16 through June 16, 2026, the public will be able to comment on the final drafts of the five action plans developed by the SJBE Management Conference and approved by the Board of Directors of the Corporation for the Conservation of the San Juan Bay Estuary.
Join the presentations and discussions
As part of the public review and comment period of the new CCMP, SJBEP has held a series of presentations and community discussions around the watershed.
Through these spaces, we have managed to share the priority problems and actions proposed in the five action plans that make up the new CCMP, focused on:
- Water Infrastructure
- Estuarine Ecosystems
- Integrated Waste and Material Management
- Adaptation of the SJBE System
- Fostering a Culture of Integrated Management
Likewise, these assemblies seek to hear questions, recommendations and comments from the communities as part of the participatory process of reviewing the Plan. We invite you to participate in the next presentations/discussions:
Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. | Rafael “Pipo” Negrón Activity Center, Toa Baja <📍🗺️>
Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. | Assembly Hall of the Government Center, Trujillo Alto <📍🗺️>
Additional meetings and discussions will be announced soon, in other municipalities and communities within the basin.
We are deeply grateful to all the organizations, community leaders, and collaborators who are making these spaces for dialogue and citizen participation possible.
Join the public hearing
The public hearing will be an open space to listen to comments and recommendations from the community before finalizing the new plan. We invite community leaders, organizations, and the general public to participate.
