Estuario Weekly Update
An estuarine greeting! Summer is here, and with it come new opportunities to learn, explore and act for the health of our waters. This week, we continue to connect you with the ecosystems of the San Juan Bay Estuary (SJBE), through educational experiences, monitoring and activities that strengthen our commitment to the environment.
Snorkeling Educational Tour at Playita del Condado

On Saturday, July 5, 2025, connect with life below the water’s surface on the Snorkeling Tour at Playita del Condado, at 4:30 p.m. in the Condado Lagoon Estuarine Nature Reserve. Join us and explore the marine biodiversity and ecosystems that make the Reserve a unique space. Hope to see you there!
This activity will count toward Contacto Verde or community service hours. Sign up today, at estuario.org/eventos.

Weekly water quality monitoring
Evaluation conducted on Thursday, June 19, 2025. We have a GREEN flag for the Condado Lagoon. We recommend avoiding the area that exceeded the “Beach Action Value” water quality parameter of 70 CFU/100 ML enterococci. Remember to avoid the water during rain events.
