GIS Specialist
The San Juan Bay Estuary Partnership (Estuario) is seeking qualified applicants for GIS Specialist for the creation of maps on the GIS platform that will be shared with the public and stakeholders. The contractor will work in close collaboration with the current website contractor, who maintains the Estuario.org webpage. The maps created will be accessible to the public via Estuario.org.
ABOUT THE SAN JUAN BAY ESTUARY PARTNERSHIP
The Corporation for the Conservation of the San Juan Bay Estuary is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that operates the San Juan Bay Estuary Partnership, or Estuario. Established in 1994, we are the only tropical and non-continental location within the National Estuary Program (NEP) under Section 320 of the Clean Water Act. The Estuario operates as a partnership committed to their collective responsibility to restore and conserve the waters and associated ecosystems of the San Juan Bay Estuary and its watershed as a sustainable axis of social and economic development. Estuario’s work is guided by a master restoration plan known as the Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan (CCMP) for the San Juan Bay Estuary.
Responsibilities:
- Support the integration of the technology being developed into the website, support website maintenance related to GIS, and conduct any GIS analysis related to the Estuarios’ projects.
Required Qualifications (Education and Experience):
- Over 10 years of experience in the use of GIS and spatial analyses.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Extensive experience in GIS.
- Provide their own personal computer and transportation.
- Ability to create geographic data from diverse sources.
- Understand and prepare metadata.
- Provide their own personal computer, software, and transportation.
Language Required:
English and Spanish.
