The Corporation for the Conservation of the San Juan Bay Estuary is a 501(c)3 non- profit organization that operates the San Juan Bay Estuary Partnership, or Estuario. Established in 1994, we are the only tropical and non-continental location within the National Estuary Program (NEP) under Section 320 of the Clean Water Act. The Estuario is a partnership committed to restore and conserve the waters and associated ecosystems of the San Juan Bay Estuary and its watershed as a sustainable axis of social and economic development. Estuario is a trusted regional science-based organization, supported by engaged stakeholders. As part of stakeholder facilitation and project execution, the Green Infrastructure Specialist will oversee the Coastal Resilience Project, a capacity building and reforestation project that restores capacity of coastal ecosystems to withstand the impact of severe atmospheric events. In order to restore these ecosystem services, they should be constantly monitored, particularly once they are impacted by atmospheric events, and conditions evaluated. The certified citizen scientists carry out the monitoring and provide the data that helps us to achieve resilience in critical ecosystems in the SJBE, such as coral reefs, seagrass, and mangrove forest. The Green Infrastructure Specialist will be responsible for stakeholder collaboration, project planning, direction, completion, budgeting of the project, and document and track progress to ensure that expectations regarding key performance indicators (KPIs) are met.
