Estuario’s actions continue for a resilient coast

During the past week, we planted mangroves in two different locations, as part of the coastal resilience module of Estuario’s certification for citizen scientists..

On Friday, August 25, we were in the Condado Lagoon Natural Estuarine Reserve with the Academia Espíritu Santo. The group planted about 600 red mangrove seedlings in the Reserve.

On Saturday, August 26, we were in the Jobos Mangrove in Isabela, in collaboration with Vida Marina. We planted about 450 specimens of red, black and white mangroves.

Thank you to all the students and volunteers who joined us!

Weekly water quality monitoring

Evaluation conducted on Thursday, August 31, 2023. We have a GREEN flag for the Condado Lagoon Natural Estuarine Reserve. Some areas on the coast exceeded the water quality standard (70 CFU/100 ml). We recommend avoiding these areas. Remember to avoid the water during rain events. Have a great weekend!
