Thank you, Dr. Yogani Govender, for joining our mission!

On Thursday, October 15, 2026, we had the voluntary participation of Dr. Yogani Govender, biologist, in our weekly bacteriological monitoring.

Thank you for sharing your scientific expertise with us! Her outstanding background in biology, ecology, and environmental sciences, as well as her commitment to environmental justice and the conservation of our ecosystems, represent a valuable contribution to our work.

Dr. Govender’s participation reaffirms the importance of joining efforts, knowledge and wills to protect our natural resources and promote communities that are more aware and committed to the environment.

Join the weekly bacteriological monitoring in the Condado Lagoon, through the SJBEP Citizen Science Certification’s Water Quality Monitoring module. We add new activities every month. See the field experiences and training workshops available, at: estuario.org/ccc.

Here are the results.

Weekly water quality monitoring

Evaluation carried out on Thursday, October 15, 2026. We have a GREEN flag for the Condado Lagoon. We recommend avoiding the coastal area that exceeded the “Beach Action Value” water quality parameter for 70 CFU/100 ML enterococci. Remember to avoid the water during rain events. Have a good weekend.
