Estuario invites you to participate and collaborate in the Water Community Network (RCA, for its Spanish acronym); an initiative represented by leaders and neighbors of the communities within the Estuario de la Bahía de San Juan basin.
This project continues to evolve by recruiting new members and through the organization of sub-basins, communities, and environmental commitments. The estuary is grateful to each of the neighbors and leaders that have contributed since the beginning. They have been essential in the restoration projects and formation of resilient communities in the hydrographic basin of the Estuario de la Bahía de San Juan.
RCA identifies environmental issues and develops projects for the estuary, including the first Multi-Jurisdictional Risk Mitigation Plan at the hydrographic basin level in 2021, the Detection and Correction of Illegal Discharge Plan and the Development of the Green Infrastructure Master Plan. Estuarine communities have experience responding to emergencies, thanks to their organization, training, and use of sustainable tools. We need residents and communities in the municipalities of Bayamón, Canóvanas, Carolina, Cataño, Guaynabo, Loíza, San Juan, Toa Baja, and Trujillo Alto.
You are a key part of this initiative. Join us in personal and professional environmental community activities. Let’s build a resilient estuary!
