Asset Identification Workshops for Watershed Hazard Mitigation Plan

This week, Estuario continued its Asset Identification Workshops for its Watershed Hazard Mitigation Plan: 

  • Bayamón urban zone, Monday April 26, 2021; 4 participants
  • Guaynabo coastal & urban zones, Tuesday April 27, 2021; 2 participants
  • San Juan rural zone, Wednesday April 28, 2021; 11 participants
  • San Juan municipality for members of CAUCE, Wednesday April 28, 2021; 3 participants
  • Bayamón rural zone, Thursday April 29, 2021; 2 participants 

The week beginning Monday, May 3, 2021 will include workshops for the communities of Trujillo Alto, Cataño, San Juan, Canóvanas and Guaynabo. 

Global Big Day 2021

Estuario will celebrate the next Global Big Day Saturday, May 8 2021 – pushing for the observation and counting of bird species from homes throughout the San Juan Bay Estuary Watershed. As support for the event, Estuario has programmed its Citizen Scientist Certification Bird Census Module on May 5 2021, as a capacity building strategy to teach the public how to utilize the eBird platform.

Estuario and National Park Service Collaborative Workshops

The fourth and final collaborative workshop between Estuario and the National Park Service of Puerto Rico happened Wednesday, April 28 2021. Old San Juan Through Poverty, Attacks, Hurricanes & Pandemics, attracted 47 participants.
