Weekly Water Quality Monitoring
Here are this week’s results, performed Wednesday, April 7 2021. Published each Friday through our Facebook Page.
Estuario and National Park Service Collaborative Workshops
The first of Estuario and National Park Service of Puerto Rico’s collaborative workshops happened on wednesday, April 7 2021, attracting 67 participants to the workshop Biodiversity in San Juan Bay: a Natural-Historic View. Throughout the month of April, Estuario and the National Park Service of Puerto Rico will continue offering the series, provided by National Association for interpretation (NAI)-certified personnel from both organizations, and will count as contact hours for the re-certification of interpretive guides (CIG) through NAI.
Next workshop is: Water Quality Management in Castillo San Cristóbal.
Urban Forest Network Informative Workshop
As part of a campaign for the “rediscovery” and usage of green spaces in the San Juan Metropolitan Area, Estuario is offering an informative workshop on the spaces that form its Urban Forest Network. This event will also launch the Urban Forest Network Passport, a tool design to connect the users of these spaces with educational and leisure activities.
Educational Campaign for the Restoration of Estuarine Water Bodies
This week, Estuario continued its ongoing educational campaign for the restoration of water bodies with two social media posts for the public. These were geared towards public inclusion in the identification of community resources for the estuarine watershed-based Mitigation Plan, awareness of the threat illicit discharges pose to the environment, and participation of Estuario’s Water Community Network.
