Birdwatching and Climate Change Tour:
Estuary and El Puente invite you to participate in a birdwatching tour, as a prelude to the Puerto Rico walk against climate change, on Saturday, October 28, at 7:30 am in Luis Muñoz Rivera Park.
Join Eliezer Nieves, one of our estuarine birdwatchers, as we walk, see, listen and reflect on these winged organisms, their urban ecosystems and how they are impacted by the effects of climate change.

Family day out at the County Lagoon Estuarine Nature Reserve
The family day out is back! On Saturday, November 4, 2023 , starting at 2:00 pm, come to our information table, join us for a walk through the reserve (4:30 pm), participate in a trivia game (6:00 pm), and enjoy the Estuary Cinema screening (7:00 pm). We look forward to seeing you!

Read Puerto Rico's Strategic Plan to Reduce Aquatic Debris (NOAA, EPA)
On Tuesday, October 10, 2023, NOAA’s Marine Debris Program released Puerto Rico’s 2023-2028 Strategic Plan to Reduce Aquatic Debris. This document, created in collaboration with Region 2 and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Trash-Free Waters Program, establishes a solid waste reduction plan for the next five years in Puerto Rico. It included input from dozens of local entities, including non-governmental organizations, local governments, and the island’s industrial and academic sectors. Weekly bacteriological monitoring
Assessment conducted on Thursday, October 26, 2023. We have a RED flag for the County Lagoon Estuarine Nature Reserve. We recommend avoiding areas that exceeded the Beach Action Value water quality standard of 70 CFU/100 ML. Have a great weekend!
