Introduction
Here we offer you information related to risk mitigation.
What is risk mitigation?
Vulnerability assessment of the San Juan Bay Estuary basin and system to the impact of hurricanes
This document is one of several tools for understanding the vulnerability of the San Juan Bay Estuary watershed to extreme hurricanes. It contains analyses of the correlation between human activity and natural resources, as well as data to understand what causes natural events to become economic and social disasters and how to prevent them. The authors of the articles—part of the ESTUARIO team and collaborators from public agencies and academia—provide context, share lessons learned, and offer recommendations for public policy and citizen action. Along with other analyses we have developed, this document serves as a guide for an updated mitigation plan.
