What will we be talking about?
The 2024 Estuarine Summit is a large-scale event that will bring together experts and professionals in the fields of sustainability and urban resilience, to foster greater integration and collaboration across various sectors and disciplines. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in panels, where experts in the best practices of watershed management will present findings on the current condition of the estuary.
On December 3rd, Estuario will host a series of presentations in an effort to develop a tropical resilience index that will allow us to measure progress in advancing our mission to restore and conserve the water quality in the San Juan Bay Estuary system, its watershed, and related ecosystems. With this index we aim to measure improvements in water quality and system conditions over time.
On the 4th of December, Estuario will be the host of the Watershed Symposium of Puerto Rico. On this day, federal and state agencies, as well as third-sector entities, will share information on available resources and the best practices in watershed management. Experts and professionals in the fields of sustainability and urban resilience will gather to promote greater integration across the different sectors and disciplines in the region. The day will conclude with poster exhibitions that showcase research projects by graduate students and others, focused, in one way or another, on the study of watersheds.
