What is AmeriCorps VISTA?

AmeriCorps VISTA participants have the mission of collaborating with communities to overcome poverty and improve the water quality of the San Juan Bay Estuary ecosystem.
AmeriCorps VISTA participants are committed to working with communities to overcome poverty and improve the water quality of the San Juan Bay Estuary ecosystem. Those who participate in the program commit to working for one year in the San Juan Bay Estuary. AmeriCorps VISTA's primary focus is to enhance the organizational, administrative, and financial capacity of communities with the ultimate goal of assisting low-income communities. In the case of the San Juan Bay Estuary, we are working on the issue of environmental justice.
