Estuary Guardians Program

Estuary Guardians is a school program that promotes water quality research and monitoring among students and teachers. This civic engagement program strengthens research skills related to water issues. Additional thematic workshops and special activities are also offered to Guardian groups.

During a school year, the Estuary partners with a public or private school, providing it with a kit equipped with instruments for conducting various water quality tests. The school adopts a body of water and commits to carrying out water quality monitoring activities throughout the school year. The Estuary also supports each Guardian School by offering talks, workshops, and special activities. The water quality monitoring data collected by each school is documented in an Estuary database.
