ABOUT THIS FOREST:

The Piñones State Park makes up a third of the remaining protected mangrove forests in Puerto Rico. The park is located on the coastal plains in northern Loíza. It represents a natural habitat for a great diversity of marine and land life, and through its sidewalks, recreational areas, and spiritual relaxation, this forest offers a great variety of options of enjoyment. Its green infrastructure also includes beaches, bays, corals, meadows of marine herbs, salt mines, boulders, a bioluminescent bay, and dunes.
