The San Juan Bay Estuary Vulnerability Assessment and Adaptation Strategy identifies the main climate and environmental risks that could affect the achievement of the goals of the Comprehensive Management and Conservation Plan. The analysis considers factors such as rising temperatures, droughts, heavy rainfall, sea level rise, and ocean acidification.
The report assesses the likelihood, consequences, and scope of these risks to water quality, infrastructure, ecosystems, and communities. Based on the priority risks, it proposes adaptation strategies to strengthen the resilience of the estuarine system and integrate them into future actions of the Estuary Plan.
