COMMUNITY RESILIENCE OF THE PROGRAM
FROM THE ESTUARY OF SAN JUAN BAY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The San Juan Bay Estuary ( Estuary ) is seeking professional services to be part of the relief efforts, as well as the short and medium term restoration plans within the 97 square miles of the urban estuarine watershed.
The Coordinator of Community Resilience in the area of art and culture supportá the efforts of Estuary of the Bahía de San Juanfor the revitalization of communities and restoration of water bodies in the estuary system. For these purposes, the Coordinator will support the selection and coordination of projects under the Artists initiative Resilient of the Estuary. The Artists Resilient They support the empowerment process together with scientists who are experts in the area of water quality. The coordinator will manage the selected projects in three communities, about such as the development of activities to exhibit their works and educate about each of them.
For the San Juan Bay Estuary , culture serves as a driving force in generating and implementing ideas and projects aimed at building the resilience of the San Juan Bay Estuary system. Sustainable development in resilient communities is guided by empowerment, training, awareness-raising, and evaluation activities , which utilize artistic presentations and public art, among other culturally relevant expressions, as communication strategies. The San Juan Bay Estuary supports crafts , music, theater, painting, and other creative industries in this empowerment process.
Our goal is to develop the communities of the San Juan Bay Estuary system economically, culturally, and socially without compromising the value of the ecological resources of this system and its services, nor the development possibilities for future generations.
REQUIREMENTS :
1. Bachelor's degree, or graduate studies, from an accredited university in the areas of Fine Arts , Hospitality and Culinary Arts, Economic Development , Pedagogy, Geography, Social Work.
2. Experience managing projects holistically, incorporating the needs and interests of various sectors. Experience managing youth groups.
3. Experience in projects aimed at the community and its well-being, sustainability, working in the metropolitan area with communities and project management.
4. Transportation and own computer.
5. Available to work remotely and 7 days a week, according to the community and PEBSJ calendar.
6. Work actively with curators, designers, and mediators in the creation and production of creative projects with the community, as well as temporary exhibitions .
7. To serve as an intermediary between the Resilient Artist and the community in which they work
8. Willingness to work in a team ( curators , assistants and interns )
COMPENSATION
The compensation for the contract will be discussed and determined based on the candidate's credentials and experience.
ABOUT THE SAN JUAN BAY ESTUARY
Founded in 1994 , the San Juan Bay Estuary is a non-profit organization whose mission is to restore the San Juan Bay Estuary system , the meeting point of river water with the ocean in eight municipalities.
