This 2022-2023 holiday season, from December 14 to January 5, Estuario held the traditional Christmas Bird Censuses Gamaliel Pagan Hernandez.
In summary:
- We conduct 24 censuses in 18 areas of the San Juan Bay Estuary watershed.
- We documented a total of 89 species bird's.
- Participated 140 volunteers, who dedicated their time and effort to counting the birds that inhabit and visit the different ecosystems in the Estuary basin.
Thanks to all the managers, administrators, and organizations that granted us access to their natural areas. We also appreciate the support of the volunteers and citizen scientists who accompanied us.
We will continue working and coordinating more activities in 2023 for the well-being of our species and the conservation of estuarine ecosystems. Stay tuned to our updates and social media for upcoming activities, workshops, and field trips!
