Saturday, October 15, 2022, Carolina Beach Resort—Estuarine citizen scientists received training through introductory and elective workshops on tropical coastal ecosystems and sand dune restoration. They then actively participated in the restoration process, placing wooden stakes to retain the sand and planting coastal vegetation to stabilize it. Microplastic identification and water quality monitoring activities were also conducted. This event was carried out in collaboration with Marine Life of the UPR Aguadilla. The participants received their certification as citizen scientists at the thematic module on coastal resilience. Congratulations!
