Stakeholder and Engagement Manager – The Stakeholder and Engagement Manager assists the Executive Director and the Management Conference with engagement, educational, and outreach activities. The position oversees and coordinates Management Conference (MC) committees and pursues new partnerships and funding opportunities; they provide staff support for the Management Conference and serve as a liaison for various external working groups. The Stakeholder and Engagement Manager is expected to plan, develop, and execute communication initiatives, promotions, campaigns, and projects that engage key people, staff, and community cohorts to implement the Comprehensive Conservation Management Plan (CCMP) and are aligned with the 5-year strategic plan for the San Juan Bay Estuary Programs (SJBEP).
Senior Project Lead (Juan Méndez Creek Restoration) – The San Juan Bay Estuary Partnership (Estuario) is seeking qualified applicants for the Senior Project Lead- Juan Méndez Creek position to lead project efforts in coordination with Estuario's work and its team. This contractor will act as project liaison and will be responsible for leading the technical aspects of the project; carry out the reconnaissance study and develop the report, manage data, support coordination with USACE and carry out any other tasks needed to manage technical aspects for the Juan Mendez Creek Restoration.
Technical Support Consultant – The San Juan Bay Estuary Partnership (Estuary) seeks a senior level individual or entity with the technical expertise to support and enhanced the water quality monitoring program, systematize and unite environmental data, conduct spatial and temporal analysis, support the development of communication and presentation data tools such as a data dashboard, and develop reports associated with the Regional Collaborative Water Quality Monitoring efforts.
Project Evaluator – The San Juan Bay Estuary Partnership (Estuario) seeks qualified applicants for the Project Evaluator contract position to document project efforts of the Juan Mendez Creek Restoration.
Technical Facilitator – The San Juan Bay Estuary Partnership (Estuario) seeks a senior level expert/technical to bring support as a Technical Facilitator to lead an analysis of the conditions of the Juan Mendez Creek with the input from the Infrastructure Committee. The technical facilitator is expected to develop and present to the Infrastructure Committee recommendations for the restoration plan using the information gathered throughout the year.
Field Technician – The San Juan Bay Estuary Partnership (Estuary) is seeking qualified applicants for the field technician position to conduct a rapid needs assessment, gather data, conduct analysis, document, and present the results of the rapid needs assessment.
Brand Development (Request for Proposal) – The San Juan Bay Estuary Partnership (Estuario) seeks proposals from qualified firms/individuals for Brand Development to design a brand and communications content for the Juan Méndez Creek Restoration project that will give it visibility and increase the scope of interaction with communities, collaborators, and other stakeholders. The position is a great opportunity for a creatively minded person with graphic design and communications skills to execute from concept to completion.
Graphic Design (Request for Proposal) – The San Juan Bay Estuary Partnership (Estuario) seeks proposals from qualified firms/individuals for the creation of a project logo and graphics/visuals to represent the Juan Mendez Creek Restoration project under the funds of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL).
Technology Consultant (Request for Proposal) – The San Juan Bay Estuary Partnership, or Estuary, requests proposals from entities with the technical expertise in technology for the development of a technology platform that integrates a collaborative database and a dashboard that includes environmental monitoring data from Estuary, municipalities, and state agencies.

This Saturday, February 3, 2024, Join us for the next family day out at the Condado Lagoon Estuarine Nature Reserve. We'll have games, sports activities, interpretive tours, and an outdoor workshop about coral reefs and seagrass. Don't miss it! Following the family outing, Cine del Estuario presents: The Little Mermaid (2023); Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 7:00 pm at Jaime Benítez Park in the Condado Lagoon Estuarine Nature Reserve. The screening will be in Spanish with English subtitles. This screening is free. Bring your blanket or chair!
Support the Estuary this upcoming Puerto Rico Water Quality Day
The island's largest citizen science event is coming soon! Water Quality Day will be on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am We are looking for community groups or organizations to support the delivery of monitoring kits and provide training workshops to participating public throughout the island. Other activities
Microplastics characterization field trip
Last Saturday, January 27th, five volunteers joined us on our monthly trip as part of the microplastic characterization and reduction module of the Estuary's Citizen Scientist Certification program. On this trip, we had the opportunity to monitor the Margarita Channel and the channel leading to the Martín Peña Canal using the Manta Trawl. We collected multiple microplastic samples that will be analyzed, identified, and documented by citizen scientists like you. Join the effort!
We appreciate the commitment of Laura, Yajanny, Kerry, Fabiola, and Stacy, as well as our captain, Kenneth Pastor, for their support in this endeavor and for keeping us safe throughout the voyage. Congratulations!

La Goyco Fair
The La Goyco Community Workshop will hold its next fair on Saturday, February 3, 2024. At 11:00 am, the efforts of the community campaign will be recognized. It should not touch the floor or reach the water, from the community of Loíza Street.

Evaluation conducted on Thursday, February 1, 2024. We have a GREEN flag for the Condado Lagoon Estuarine Nature Reserve. We recommend avoiding the area that exceeded the water quality parameter for enterococci Beach Action Value of 70 CFU/100 ML. Have a great weekend!
