Water quality module:
- July 18th – Field trip: water quality monitoring in San Juan Bay; from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
- July 19th – Field trip: water quality monitoring at Laguna San José; from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
- July 20th – Field trip: bacteriological monitoring in the County Lagoon and coastal area; from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
- July 21th – Field trip: monitoring water quality in the Piedras River and Las Curías Lake.
Coastal resilience module:
- July 20th – Field trip: ecological assessment of the coral reef; from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Isla Verde Reserve, Carolina
- July 20th – Thematic workshop: mangrove propagation and maintenance; from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm via Zoom
- July 22th – Field trip: ecological assessment of the coral reef; from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Escambrón Beach Resort, San Juan
- July 22th – Field trip: planting coastal vegetation and beach cleanup; from 8:00 am to 11:00 am at Crashboat Beach, Aguadilla
- July 26th – Thematic workshop: Introduction to coastal resilience; from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm via Zoom

Professional training events for environmental interpreters
Workshop for interpreters:
The Estuary invites all environmental interpreters to the workshop: From the sidewalk: activities, techniques and technologies to enrich our interpretive nature tours; el Tuesday, July 18, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm by Zoom.
We will discuss the principles of environmental interpretation, covering activities and techniques that can help create memorable experiences on interpretive tours, within the context of the different ecosystems of the Estuary.

Interpreter's tour:
The San Juan Bay Estuary invites certified interpreters, nature guides, and community guides to participate in a kayak tour, where ecological concepts of estuarine biodiversity and ecosystems will be discussed, along with interpretation techniques to include in guided tours.
The tour "Water and Biodiversity: Interpreting the Estuarine Ecosystems that Connect Us " will take place on Thursday, July 20, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at Jaime Benítez Park in the Estuarine Nature Reserve of the Condado Lagoon.
This tour counts as contact hours for NAI CIG recertification.

Learn about Law 51-2022
The Estuary invites you to participate in an informative virtual workshop, where we will inform you about Law 51-2022, Law for the prohibition of single-use plastics ; next Monday, July 17, 2023, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm via Zoom.
Although everyone is invited, this workshop is of particular interest to business owners.

Plastic-free July:
We're celebrating a plastic-free July! The Estuary's responsible solid waste management initiatives, "Keep it off the ground and out of the water" and "Leave a clean footprint in Piñones ," offer advice on actions you can take to reduce your plastic use. This week: use your reusable cup or mug!

The sounds of the estuary
The Sounds of the Estuary is a sound recording and documentation project. Part of the creative process will consist of three tours, during which the everyday sounds of various communities located within the estuary and its watershed will be recorded. These recordings, and the experiences captured within them, will form the basis of a sound map that will be part of the Estuary Atlas. There are still spaces available for the tours taking place on July 23 and 27, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am , in Central Park and the Piñones State Forest, respectively.

Estuary Cinema presents Top Gun: Maverick; Saturday, April 5, 2023, at 7:00 pm at Jaime Benítez Park in the Condado Lagoon Estuarine Nature Reserve. This event is free. Bring your blanket or chair!
Weekly bacteriological monitoring
Assessment conducted on Thursday, July 13, 2023. We have a RED flag for the County Lagoon Estuarine Nature Reserve. We recommend avoiding areas that exceeded the Beach Action Value water quality standard (70 CFU/100 ML). Remember not to enter the water during rain events.
