Estuary Update!

Greetings to our entire estuary community. We send you our warmest regards and hope you are well as you receive this email. We are sharing these initiatives and actions carried out week after week. These activities, tips, and information are for the benefit of all.

Weekly water quality monitoring

Here are the results of the weekly bacteriological monitoring, carried out on Wednesday, October 13 from 2021. These results are also published by our Facebook page.

We have issued a red flag for all areas of the County Lagoon. This is due to elevated levels of enterococci observed throughout the area. Rainfall events, such as those of the past few days, promote the movement of contaminated runoff into waterways.

We recommend avoiding recreational use of the lagoon. Remember to be cautious when using natural waters for recreation after rainfall events.

Citizen Scientist Certification

We're starting a new series of Water Quality workshops for the Estuary Citizen Scientist certification. Don't miss the upcoming workshops in the coming months!

  • August 20, 2021, 5 PM: Introduction to Water Quality Monitoring
  • November 17, 2021, 5 PM: Water Quality: Bacteriological Analysis

All workshops will be held via Zoom. Register today: https://estuario.org/ccc/
