Weekly water quality monitoring

Estuary Cinema 

Do not miss: Estuary Cinema, morning Saturday, March 5, 2021 at 7:00 PM. Tune in to our Facebook page to enjoy a special edition of environmental documentaries produced by the Ferré Rangel School of Communication and the Community Engagement Center of the University of the Sacred Heart (USC). This time, discover the environmental documentaries that present our realities and the efforts of environmental organizations that work daily for the environment and their communities. 

The Estuary will participate in the Vibra Verde event at the Machuchal Market

We look forward to seeing you at the event this weekend! Green Vibes of the Machuchal Marketwhich will be celebrated on Saturday, March 6 and Sunday, March 7, 2021, from 10 AM to 5 PM. 

Visit us at our information table on Sunday, March 7. Learn about our activities and projects, including the campaign "It shouldn't touch the floor or reach the water.", dedicated to the proper management of solid waste and used cooking oil in the community of Calle Loíza. We will wait for you! 

Register for the Estuary Citizen Scientist Certification Workshop: Introduction to Water Quality Monitoring

The new series of workshops for the Certification of Citizen Scientists of the Estuary. This next Wednesday, March 10 of 2021 Don't miss the workshop: Introduction to Water Quality Monitoring, de 3-4 PM via Zoom, with Harold Manrique Hernández, coordinator of water quality monitoring and citizen science of the Estuary. 

This workshop will introduce the concept of water quality by exploring its physicochemical components and the instrumentation required for analysis. You will also learn about the water quality monitoring program that the Estuary Program conducts throughout its watershed.

We thank the 91 citizen scientists who participated last Wednesday, March 3, 2021 in the Taller Introduction to Participatory Bird Censuses by the education coordinator of the Avilés Santiago Coral Estuary, and the education manager Eliezer Nieves Rodríguez.

Call for “Critical Habitat Coordinator”

The Estuary is looking for interested candidates to help as Critical Habitat Coordinator for the management of critical sea turtle nesting habitat and the sea turtle recovery plan in the San Juan Bay Estuary system.
