The Water Quality Day is the biggest participatory science event in Puerto Rico.
A series of conversations about environmental, cultural, and economic relevance to the estuary from scientific and community perspectives have been recorded as podcasts. “Estuario Sonoro” is a variety of voices and perspectives about the importance of the estuary and its diverse dimensions. In “Estuario Profundo” Millie Gil interviews scientists, consultants, and environmental leaders about topics related to the conservation of the estuary.
With the Identification and Detection of Illegal Discharge of the Estuary project we were able to precisely locate areas of high contamination at the sub-basin level in all the hydrographic basins of the estuary in order to fix these areas.
The San Juan Bay Estuary Partership is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that designs, implements, and provides restorative maintenance in order to improve water quality and ecosystems within the Estuario de la Bahía de San Juan and its basin.
