Content Editing and Development Services

The Estuary requests editing and content development services for two publications: a narrative/historical book about the Estuary and the revision of the Estuary Plan.

Over the Estuary

The San Juan Bay Estuary Conservation Corporation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that manages the Estuary. The Estuary became part of the National Estuary Program (NEP) in 1994 and is the only tropical, non-continental location within the NEP under Section 320 of the Clean Water Act. The Estuary's mission is to restore and conserve the waters and associated ecosystems of the San Juan Bay Estuary and its watershed as a sustainable driver of social and economic development. The Estuary's work is guided by the Estuary Plan, a restoration master plan officially known as the Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan (CCMP).

 

Responsibilities:

  • Publication review (Integrated editing, style review and proofreading service) to ensure that the writing is clear, fluent, and communicative.
  • Develop high-quality informative and educational content for:
    • A book about the most historic oil spills in the coastal waters of Puerto Rico
    • Estuary Plan Review
  • Work with the Estuary team to integrate input and ensure the content is accessible to the intended audience

 

Required Qualifications (Education and Experience):

  • At least 10 years of experience in content editing and/or content development on environmental topics
  • At least 10 years of experience in digital content development

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills in spoken and written Spanish
  • Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English (in case of English editing)
  • Effective communication skills
  • Working under pressure and meeting set deadlines.
