PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The San Juan Bay Estuary Program (Estuary) is seeking professional services to be part of the recovery efforts, as well as the urban estuarine watershed restoration plans during the period from July 1, 2019 to September 30, 2019.
The Community Resilience Coordinator will be working directly with the assigned community, conducting workshops for schools, community groups, municipalities, universities, and others.
TASKS TO BE DONE
- Transitioning relief efforts into a comprehensive community resilience plan for the community
- Implement community resilience initiatives in the sub-basins of the San Juan Estuary Bay
- Support the development of the Estuary Community Resilience Unit's Mitigation Plan
- Work in coordination with the Estuary team to amplify the impact of resilient communities and other community empowerment projects
- Identify community centers or facilities with the potential to become “Community Resilience Centers” and provide support to their residents
- Coordinate and work directly with community-based organizations
- Identify organizations to collaborate with and complete the Community Resilience goals
REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:
1. Bachelor's degree, or graduate studies, from an accredited university in the areas of Geography, Social Work, Environmental Sciences, Community Development.
2. Experience managing projects holistically, incorporating the needs and interests of various sectors. Experience managing youth groups.
3. Experience in projects aimed at the community and its well-being, sustainability, working in the metropolitan area with communities and project management.
4. Transportation and own computer.
5. Available to work remotely and 7 days a week, according to the community and PEBSJ calendar.
COMPENSATION
The compensation for the contract will be discussed and determined based on the candidate's credentials and experience.

Founded in 1994, the San Juan Bay Estuary Program is a non-profit organization whose mission is to restore the San Juan Bay Estuary system, the meeting point of river water with the ocean in eight municipalities.
