The San Juan Bay Estuary (Estuary) requests professional services from a community-based organization interested in serving as a community liaison between Loíza Street and the objectives of the Don't Let It Touch the Floor or Reach the Water Campaign that the Estuary coordinates.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate and maintain constant communication between residents, merchants, entities, organizations and municipal and central governments on Loíza Street about the campaign Don't Let It Touch the Floor or Reach the Water, through periodic meetings and community activities.
- To implement reduction, reuse and recycling practices in order to exemplify the responsible practices that the "Don't Touch the Floor or Get into the Water" campaign is interested in adopting by businesses and residents.
- Coordinate and facilitate visits, meetings and activities to inform and educate about the merits of the Campaign and about measures to actively collaborate.
- To convene merchants to formulate a strategy that will allow them to reduce and divert the solid and liquid waste generated.
- Inform businesses about the responsible merchant recognition program. Invite merchants to join this recognition program.
- Support the recruitment of volunteers to support efforts to reduce waste and segregate materials.
- Present the "Don't Touch the Floor or Reach the Water" campaign in various forums as needed.
- Presenting on the "Don't Let It Touch the Floor or Reach the Water" campaign at the Legislative Assembly in coordination with the Public Policy Coordinator of the Estuary.
- As part of the campaign "Don't Let It Touch the Floor or Reach the Water," support the development of awareness about adverse impacts on quality of life caused by improper disposal of solid waste and oils.
- Support the development of a strategic and replicable model for the efficient management of solid waste that integrates reduction, reuse, and recycling
- Attend weekly meetings with the project team.
- Submit a progress report to the Estuary every three months.
REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:
- Operating from the community on Loíza Street
- Recognize the importance of the "Don't Let It Touch the Floor or Reach the Water" campaign
- Mission aligned with the mission of the Estuary to conserve the water quality of the San Juan Bay Estuary ecosystem as a sustainable axis of social and economic development.
- Opportunity to elevate the "Don't Touch the Floor or Reach the Water" campaign to a viral level through existing platforms.
- Commitment and active relationship with the community.
- Be legally established in Puerto Rico.
- Experience and ability to manage grants.
- Experience in projects aimed at the community and its well-being, sustainability, working in the metropolitan area with communities and project management.
- Ability to manage projects virtually and as part of a team.
