NOTICE OF CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY FOR GRAPHIC ARTIST FOR ESTUARY COMMUNITY PROJECT

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The San Juan Bay Estuary Program (Estuary) is seeking a graphic artist to assist with solid waste reduction and management efforts on Loíza Street in the Municipality of San Juan. The graphic artist will be responsible for developing educational materials and signage in collaboration with community members. These materials will focus on raising awareness and informing residents about proper solid waste disposal and available resources on Loíza Street.
TASKS TO BE DONE
- Educational material (poster, postcard, sticker, booklets)
- Small and large format signage
- Conduct a workshop with community representatives to obtain input.
- Facilitate a meeting with the project's Community Liaison to gather information from the community and incorporate it into the educational campaign through Loíza Street and the solid waste management project.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Artistic merit (portfolio)
- Proficient in the following programs: Adobe, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign or equivalent.
- Experience in educational campaigns.
- Flexible, positive attitude, focused on finding solutions and a desire to achieve results.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
- Ability to work through stipulated deadlines.
- Capacity for teamwork.
- Bilingual spelling and pronunciation (English and Spanish)
REQUIREMENTS
- Interest in environmental issues and community development.
- Having your own computer.
- Ease of transportation.
- Preferably be a resident of the area.
- Experience and/or relationship with the community of Loíza Street.
COMPENSATION
The contract compensation will be discussed and determined based on the candidate's credentials and experience.

Founded in 1994, the San Juan Bay Estuary Program is a non-profit organization whose mission is to restore the San Juan Bay Estuary system, the meeting point of river water with the ocean in eight municipalities.
