Other activities
During the family day out at the Condado Lagoon Estuarine Nature Reserve last Saturday, December 2nd, we participated in an informative tour, courtesy of our public engagement specialist and bird census coordinator, Eliezer Nieves, and our environmental educator, Coral Avilés. Participants learned about the importance of this estuarine ecosystem and conducted a bird census in the area.
Thanks to the friends and neighbors who joined us for the day trip and the Estuary Cinema screening. Until next time!
On Saturday, December 2, 14 volunteers accompanied our coastal resilience coordinator, Andreína Alexatos, in the planting of around 750 coastal trees in half a hectare of the Northeast Ecological Corridor in San Miguel, Luquillo, as part of the coastal resilience module of the Estuary's citizen scientist certification.
The community campaign, "Don't Let It Touch the Floor or Get into the Water," thanks the 16 volunteers who supported the recycling stations at the Christmas Party in La Goyco last Saturday, December 2, 2023. We diverted three bags of aluminum (35 pounds) and one plastic bag (7 pounds), among other materials.
