Music from the sound art seminar of The Sounds of the Estuary
Listen to the pieces created during the Sound Art Seminar, organized by Armando Román, held in July 2023, as part of his project as a resident artist, The Sounds of the Estuary.
These incorporate musical arrangements based on the sounds of the environment of various locations connected to the San Juan Bay Estuary.

Other activities
On Saturday, September 30, 2023, a group of people and their families planted 575 mangrove trees at San Gerónimo Beach in the Condado Lagoon Estuarine Nature Reserve. They contributed to the restoration and preservation of this coastal ecosystem. With the assistance of our coastal resilience activities coordinator, Andreína Alexatos, the participants learned about the importance of mangroves and how their direct action could have a positive impact on local biodiversity.

On October 6, 2023, the Condado Lagoon Estuarine Nature Reserve was the site of another mangrove planting event. This time, the group of volunteers consisted of employees of Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, who dedicated their time and effort to restoring the coastal environment. They planted a total of 500 mangroves, demonstrating their commitment to the sustainability and conservation of this ecological treasure. These actions demonstrate how the community and local organizations can unite to protect Puerto Rico's natural resources.

Weekly bacteriological monitoring
Assessment conducted on Thursday, October 12, 2023. We have a GREEN flag for the Condado Lagoon Estuarine Nature Reserve. The Escambrón Spa station (132 CFU/100ML) exceeded the Beach Action Value standard of 70 CFU/100 ML. We recommend avoiding this area. Have a great weekend!
