Coastal resilience with students
On Friday, November 1, 2024, 54 11th grade students from Saint John's School dedicated their Community Day to the coastal resilience of the County Lagoon.
Following an introductory talk on the Estuary Coastal Resilience module, they planted approximately 300 red mangrove seedlings and cleaned the area surrounding the lagoon. The time these students spent on this activity counts as community service hours.
We appreciate the support of our experts, Andreína Alexatos, Stacey Larancuent, Mario García, and Agnes Pagán. Special thanks to teacher Rosa Rivera for her support in planting mangroves.
