Estuario receives the “US Water Prize 2021: Outstanding NonProfit Organization”
As part of the press conference held for Puerto Rico's 2021 Water Quality Monitoring Day, we announced that the Estuary has been chosen by the US Water Alliance as a leading non-profit organization with the US Water Prize 2021This distinction is awarded to entities, community groups, and individuals for leading innovative approaches to water management and ensuring a clean and sustainable future.
La US Water Alliance It educates the nation about the true value of water and accelerates policies and programs that effectively manage water resources to build stronger communities.
We thank all the collaborators and citizens who trust, support and participate in our mission and vision to restore and conserve the estuarine ecosystem and congratulate the other award winners.

Weekly water quality monitoring
We present the results of the weekly water quality monitoring, carried out on Wednesday, August 25, 2021. These are published every Friday by our Facebook page.
We continue with green flag For recreational use of the lagoon. We recommend being cautious after rainfall events and avoiding areas that still have fecal bacteria levels outside of water quality standards.
Estuary Artist in Residence
The end Great Craft Marathon of Glass Bottle Transformation by Resident Artist, Michelle Malley.
The Great Craft Marathon was part of the project “What to do with your glass bottles”, in which Malley conducted workshops on reusing glass bottles as a method for reducing solid waste in the community of Machuchal, during the summer months of 2021.

Capacity building workshops in your community
We continue our efforts to strengthen our estuarine communities. As part of the development of Estuary Mitigation Plan we begin a series of workshops to identify capabilities in your communityThese workshops begin on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, and will continue until Tuesday, September 21, 2021. They are divided by municipality to simplify the process of collaboration with the public. Choose your municipality and participate.
These workshops aim to Prepare yourself to recognize and identify the capabilities your community has to protect itself from natural or anthropogenic risksThey consist of an information session, followed by a collaborative activity with other members of the public.
