Greetings to our entire estuarine community. We send you our warmest regards and hope you are well upon receiving this email. We share These initiatives and actions are carried out week after week. These activities, tips, and information are for the benefit of everyone. This past Monday May 17th 2021 We join in the celebration of World Recycling Day Proclaimed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. We invite you to be mindful and responsible regarding solid waste generation and the segregation and recycling of materials.
Weekly water quality monitoring

Green infrastructure pilot project in County Lagoon
On Thursday, May 20, 2021, the reforestation process in the County Lagoon, Part of the pilot project for green infrastructure and habitat restoration in the area. Read more about the project here.
Today, Friday, May 21, 2021, a total of 51 coastal plants among them cocoplums and sea grapes, and 60 seedlings red mangrove in the area surrounding the northern part of the Condado Lagoon Estuarine Nature Reserve. Remember to enjoy this natural space in a fair and environmentally responsible way. We thank Representatives from the Municipality of San Juan and Friends of the Lagoon for supporting this effort.

The workshops for the Estuary Scientific Citizens Certification were a success.
The most recent series of elective workshops in the Citizen Scientist Certification Program has concluded. We thank the participants. 283 participants between the modules of Participatory bird censuses, Water quality y Characterization and reduction of microplastics.
