International Coastal Cleanup 2022 at the County Lagoon
Last Saturday, October 29, the 2022 International Coastal Cleanup took place, organized by Scuba Dogs SocietyEstuary was present in the South, East, and Northeast zones of the County Lagoon Estuarine Reserve (RNELC). We had the participation of 41 volunteers from the following groups; Friends of the Lagoon, Troop 240 of Guaynabo, Plugging PR, among other volunteers who gathered. A total of 13 bags They were collected along the coastline. Thanks to all the volunteers who came out. See photo gallery here.
Certification of scientific citizens
A new round of introductory workshops for certification in the modules of water quality monitoring, microplastic characterization and reduction, participatory bird censuses y coastal resilience.

Estuary Summit 2022
La Estuary Summit 2022 It is an event organized by our Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee (STAC). Through this gathering, STAC seeks to develop a conceptual model of the socio-ecological-technological system of the San Juan Bay Estuary as a guide to create programs for conservation, research, water quality monitoring and education.
The event will take place on November 15, 16 and 17, 2022, from 8:30 AM to 5 PM at the Sacred Heart University and virtually via Zoom.

Weekly bacteriological monitoring
Evaluation carried out on Thursday, November 3, 2022. We have GREEN flag in the Condado Lagoon Estuarine Nature Reserve and the monitored beaches. However, a system with a high probability of precipitation is approaching this weekend, so we recommend avoiding direct contact with bodies of water during the rain event and for at least 48 hours afterward.
