Through our weekly update, we share opportunities for collaboration, volunteering, and employment; through initiatives and planned actions that benefit the ecosystems and communities of the San Juan Bay estuary. These activities, tips, and information are for the benefit of everyone.

Support the Estuary by reimbursing your tax return. Look for the option “Contribution to the Special Fund for the San Juan Bay Estuary ” on line 1B of the “Reimbursement” section .

Job and contract opportunities

Estuary offers the following employment and collaboration opportunities:

Estuary is seeking a Project Officer for the Citizens Scientists for Coastal Resilience project to coordinate and oversee it. This role will involve planning, directing, completing, and budgeting the project. The Project Officer will also document progress and ensure that key performance indicators are met. Please apply by March 3, 2022.

Estuary is seeking local entities to join in support of the activities of the new Coastal Resilience module of the Citizens Scientist Certification Project. Apply by February 28, 2022.

Save the date: 3rd Caribbean Climate Change Conference

Learn and discuss how Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands are affected by climate change and how we can respond. The 3rd Caribbean Climate Change Conference: Promoting Climate Resilience in Puerto Rico & the U.S. Virgin Islands will be held virtually from April 19-20, 2022 .

The conference will provide a platform for sharing information and experiences related to the impacts, challenges, solutions, new initiatives, and opportunities that address and promote climate resilience and equity for residents of the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Online registration will be available soon.

The restoration and water quality management efforts in the San Juan Bay estuary watershed are made possible by our supporters. Donations to the Estuary are tax-deductible in Puerto Rico and the United States.
