Leave a clean footprint in Piñones
Estuario presents the community campaign “ Leave a Clean Footprint in Piñones ,” an educational effort focused on action to care for the coastal ecosystems of Piñones through the reduction of solid waste and its responsible disposal, in collaboration with the organization LimPiaR.
Last Friday, February 10, 2023, the campaign signage was delivered to two businesses in Piñones:
Thank you for your commitment!
The "Leave a Clean Footprint" campaign in Piñones continues the methods of the educational campaign "Don't Let It Touch the Ground or Reach the Water," which has 20 businesses and collaborators on Loíza Street in Santurce. Both campaigns are part of the Estuary's Aquatic Debris Program.
Weekly bacteriological monitoring
Assessment conducted on Thursday, February 23, 2023. We have a GREEN flag at the Condado Lagoon Estuarine Nature Reserve. The stations marked in red exceeded the water quality parameter for enterococci (70 CFU/100 ml). We recommend avoiding direct contact with these bodies of water during rain events (and for at least 48 hours afterward).
The restoration and water quality management efforts in the San Juan Bay estuary watershed are made possible by our supporters. Donations to the Estuary are tax-deductible in Puerto Rico and the United States.
