The San Juan Bay Estuary Water Quality Monitoring Project has the function of ensuring the quality of the water of the San Juan Bay Estuary through the physical-chemical characterization of its water bodies.
Over the years, the San Juan Bay Estuary Project (SBSJ) has established protocols, strategies, initiatives, and collaborations to ensure the sustainability of our efforts. Proper documentation of all processes and outcomes has allowed the SBSJ to evaluate its performance and improve its systems.
Weekly monitoring of bacteriological levels at selected beaches and lagoons along the northeastern coastline of the island. The purpose is to regularly assess water quality and keep the public informed about the water quality in areas frequented by the public.
